Middle East on Edge: Ceasefire in Clash declared between Iran and Israel

Temporary relief follows 12 days of warfare as Ceasefire comes into place
After a period of close to two weeks of fierce conflict that rocked the region, it was one tense and fragile ceasefire declaration between Iran and Israel on June 24, 2025. The truce is the product of U.S and Qatari brokered talks and the culmination of what is being described by many as the 12-Day War. However, this is raising a lot of questions as to how long this peace would last as hours after the announcement, both sides were accusing each other of violations.

The Origin of the conflict
The war broke out on June 13 when Israel carried out a synchronized military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities as well as military installations in places like Tehran, Natanz and Isfahan. The operation, which was code-named Operation Rising Lion, was meant to mask the nuclear capabilities of Iran at a big scale.

Iran was quick to respond with ballistic missiles attacks aimed at Israeli cities and American military posts in the region. The worst of such cases happened when Iranian missiles targeted Beersheba killing civilians which included some holocaust participants an event that created wave of indignation across the global scene.

Human Toll
Iran: More than 600 civilians were killed and thousands of others injured and reportedly serious damage to infrastructure especially in the major cities.

Israel: More than dozens killed or wounded particularly the southern cities such as Beersheba and Ashkelon.

Displacement: Panicked by assurances of further attacks, thousands of Iranians evacuated Tehran, and large-scales evacuations were reported in southern Israel.

Reactions by the World
United States: Trump declared a complete victory over the ceasefire which was posted by experts because the nuclear program of Iran was partially derailed.

European Union: Had called restraint and stressed that restoration of nuclear talks with Iran cannot be avoided.

China & Russia: Acted conservative without taking sides; insisted that long-term diplomacy is the only way out.

Qatar: An unspoken mediator in the background, who has been hailed as the one to mediate initial discussions.
Strategic Analysis
Although the hostilities have been halted, there is a warning by experts that:

Iran would only require a short time to carry on with the development of its nuclear capabilities because it still has sufficient infrastructure.

The Israeli intelligence suspects Iran could attack again, in case they were provoked.

The Strait of Hormuz is still a hot geopolitical zone, as the Iranians are beefing up their navy.

The warfare between the countries in cyber field is going on backstage.

What is Next?
Cease fire Observation: Both parties are on guard. Any small border shoot-ups would spill over into bigger warfare.

Diplomatic Routes: Discussions in Geneva are likely to continue, this time on nuclear commitments of Iran.

Aid & Reconstruction: International aid organizations are sending an appeal to extend humanitarian aid in Iran.

In summary, at this point, the structure of the country has already crossed the line of the boundaries of the human world. Yet, this is just one of the boundaries because the crucial moment when the collective consciousness began to establish the structure of the country is at the crossroads between the human world and the inhuman world.
The ceasefire between Iran and Israel is most welcome to a very explosive scenario, but not a lasting solution. The real problems (nuclear aspirations, the play in the region, history of hatred) have not been solved. The world keeps a close watch as the Middle East starts to hold its breath.
